And the title (and cover!) of the Kingmakers' War book #4 is...

Hi everyone!

Lots of news today.

First things first. I have slightly reworked the covers of the Kingmakers' War series. And I love them! I kept the same images but went with a "swashier" font, which is what I wanted originally. I enjoy tweaking my covers when I have multiple books to play with--it gives me the ability to built a cohesion among the covers that I can only guess at when designing the first book in the series (since the covers are somewhat informed by their contents).

So, first... the new covers!

And now, the new title and cover of book #4!

Second piece of news! A Circle of Flames is coming out THIS MONTH! :) :) :) I told you guys you wouldn't have to wait as long this time.

Stay tuned for a summary and, of course, for the book release itself!

Another new cover (and paperbacks)!

Hi lovelies,

I've continued to play around with new covers. Sometimes it's nice to have a change. I thought The Season of Lightning could use a little refreshing, so... tada!

I love this book so much. Roth and Verity are very close to my heart. I plan to write a companion novel at some point, although right now I'm not sure when that will be.

Also!

Paperback editions of Steam and Glass and A Bed of Blades are available!

I will have more news soon about upcoming projects!

This Book Got a New Cover!

Hi lovelies!

I know I procrastinate on some things. Proofs for print copies of my books (basically the sample version that I look through in person to check for errors) are one of those things. But! I have copies of A Bed of Blades and Steam and Glass coming to my house, so both of those should be available soon, and I'll post links for those of you who want that new-book smell as you read. :)

Another fun thing:

I designed a new cover for Of Sea and Stone!

I always feel a little stressed when coming up with the cover for a new book, but since the series is finished and it's been out for a while, there was no pressure, and I enjoyed playing around with a new design.

I've got 2 books I'm working on right now--one is a super secret new book (!) and the other the still-untitled Briand Book #3. Stay tuned for more details soon. :)

Cover reveal....BREWER!

Today we have a coooooover reveeeeeeal!

Coming in December...

BREWER: A FROST STORY!

...

.....

......

And here it is!

I chose a lantern for the cover because it's the way Lia signals to Adam that she needs to speak with him. I think it's a rather nice symbol for him.

I just finished the first draft for this, and it will be revised and edited over the next month or so. Brewer should be available in stores in mid December, if all goes according to schedule.

Want to know as soon as Brewer is available? There are several ways to be in the loop! You can "like" me on Facebook, sign up for my Newsletter, or (if you read Kindle) go to my author page and click "notify me of new releases by this author." Voila!

FUGITIVE cover reveal!

Today, everybody, we have a cover reveal for Fugitive, a Frost novelette telling some of Gabe's story from his perspective!

And here it is...

....

.......

..........

Trust doesn't come easily...Gabe is a fugitive on the run. Betrayed by family back home, hunted by soldiers, he doesn't know who to trust. When Lia Weaver finds him bleeding in the wilderness, his life changes forever.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This Frost story contains spoilers for books 1-4 of The Frost Chronicles. The events take place up through the end of Bluewing. It can be read after Bluewing/before Aeralis, or after the entire series has been finished.

Fugitive is a Frost novelette of about 16 thousand words (meaning it's a good bit longer than a short story, but not quite long enough to be a novella/novel) that tells part of the story from Gabe's point of view. There's a lot of stuff from his life in Aeralis and more insight into his relationship with his brother. I hope you all enjoy it.

This novelette will be dedicated to reader and fan Natalie Cleary, because she was one of the winners in my recent contest!!! Congrats again, Natalie. :)

Hopefully the novelette will release around the end of this month, so stay tuned for more details. As always, you can like me on Facebook or sign up for my New Releases Newsletter to stay up to date with releases and other news!

Cover Reveal for WEAVERS (Frost #3)

Ladies and Gentlemen... some more news regarding the next book in The Frost Chronicles!

We have a COVER REVEAL for my next book!

Weavers, the third book the The Frost Chronicles series, releases in just a few weeks. I'm super excited about it, and I hope you guys are, too.

So without further ado, here is the cover!

* drumroll *

I really liked the way this one turned out, and I'm rather proud of it. Like all my covers, I designed it myself, which is my favorite part of the entire independent author process.

And here's the book summary again...

Every day, life in the Frost grows increasingly perilous for its inhabitants. The Farther occupation continues, and food is becoming scarce. And Lia Weaver’s family is facing increasing perils, too—Jonn pushes his health to the brink as he works to uncover the secrets of Echlos, and Ivy risks everything to get food for the family. And for the second time, the Weaver family is harboring a fugitive, but Lia doesn’t trust her.

Lia has personally braved many struggles—a Farther occupation, family secrets, a heart torn between two men, and Watcher attacks—as she struggles to keep her family safe. But now she will face her greatest challenge and uncover the Frost’s deepest secrets as she completes her most dangerous mission yet for the Thorns.

It's pretty short, because I don't want to give ANYTHING away. Lots of really awesome stuff happens in this one, folks. :) :) I'm so excited for you guys to read it!

Cover reveal of my new book!

I'm always a bit nervous to reveal cover art, because I have some followers on here who are professional artists and designers, and I've never taken a design class in my life.

Nevertheless, I AM pretty excited to share with you the cover art for my new book!

Once Upon a Beanstalk (And Other Fairy Tale Mashups) is a collection of humorous short stories. Rumplestiltskin and Red Riding Hood are married and running a royal wedding planner venue, Rapunzel has been rescued from her tower and is about to start her happily ever after, and the Grimm Brothers are a group of notorious thieves who are forced to rescue a kidnapped princess from a mobster giant.

All the stories take place in the same world and involve characters met in previous stories.

I've truly enjoyed writing them and I can't wait to get the book formatted and released!

First Cover Reveal

Happy Monday, everybody!

I am about a month away from the launch date for my first indie book, The Curse Girl. And that means ... a tentative, experimental, maybe-not-final-but-maybe-final cover reveal!!

* drumroll *

Notes about the cover:
* Do you like it?
* I made it myself, and I have zero design experience, so hopefully it isn't too terrible *bites nails*
* It cost me about $6 for a couple stock photos and putting them together/changing the colors/tweaking everything took me a few hours.
* I know some people (many people?) are not fans of "face" covers. I usually am not either. But this was easiest, trust me.
* More on the face thing ... I feel a good cover should do three things: 1) be colorful/interesting enough to catch a reader's eye, 2) clearly display the title, and 3) evoke some sense of the story's mood. Hopefully this cover does all those things, and if it does, then I am satisfied.
* MOST PRESSING QUESTION ~ Do you hate the way the C and G cross? I personally like it, but then the style/positioning of the words themselves gave me the most problems, and this seems to work, and I have probably lost all objectivity at this point. I wanted to do something slightly stylized without overpowering the sparkles in the background (and I could not find a script-ish font that worked for me and had a good, non-weird C and G), so I opted for simple and did the cross thing. If everyone HATES it I can change it. The only feedback I've gotten so far was positive, but that was just my husband and he is easy to please. But he specifically mentioned liking it--I didn't even ask.

Thoughts?
