HA! This happened to me last night. I sat down to work on my book, opened someone else's, and read until 1:30. (And then I still had to fold my laundry! ;))
:) Yep. Been there. That's the only time everybody stops bugging you, y'know? Normally that would be writing time, but past a certain point in the evening/morning I become ineffective as a writer... so obviously the next best thing to do is read... and then... 3:00 in the morning rolls around...
Yeah... late night is my favorite time to either write or read. Nobody bothers me and I can completely devote myself to it. And then I start playing the "just one more chapter" game, and before I know it the night is half over.
Been there. I do that with video games, too. Which is why I set an alarm so I don't play too long. Otherwise I would start at 8:30 after the kids are in bed and stay up until 3 or 4 playing.
I love it!!!!!! I do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteHAHA this has happened to me more times than I should allow it to! Most recently with A Million Suns, I could not put it down
ReplyDeleteI can happily say this has NEVER happened to me. I love my sleep too much. But, this is also why I start a book in the morning. :)

ReplyDeleteThat's the only time I get to read, so I have to live with that possibility! :o)
ReplyDeleteWell if that's the only time you have, then I say it's worth it.
DeleteAh, yes. Me too. Why is it that "this time" I always think I'll be able to read just a little bit.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I am so delusional about it. Sometimes I even pick what I think will be a boring book, and then it ends up being a new favorite.
DeleteThis happens to me far to often, its worse when you realise your up too late because the sun is starting to shine through the curtains.
