New covers! Free books!

Hi everyone!

First, I'm running another promo and OF SEA AND STONE is free for Kindle readers right now! This is a finished series, so if you like to binge your books, you can read the whole thing from start to finish. The whole series is also available in Kindle Unlimited temporarily.

I felt like freshening up some book covers, so I redesigned the rest of the Secrets of Itlantis series last week. Here are the new covers:

I'd redesigned Of Sea and Stone forever ago, and hadn't gotten around to making the rest of the books match. Finally did that... I was fun to sit down and do a whole series of covers all at once. Usually I'm designing them one at a time as I release the books.

I'm pretty sure By Sun and Saltwater is my favorite. That was always my least favorite cover of the old ones.

I also redid the cover for The Season of Lightning. I've had trouble with the covers for that book... I felt like the old cover slightly misrepresented the genre and didn't feel particularly YA and didn't really match the mood of the book either.

In other (final) news, I'm working on the next book in the Kingmakers' War series.

New Frost Book!

Hi everyone,

I've got a fun announcement!

So for a while now I've wanted to write Ann's side of the story from the Frost Chronicles. A LOT of things happen behind the scenes for her, and I think it's pretty interesting. So those of you who loved the Frost, it's coming back!

Storm and Glass will follow both Ann and Korr, and it is super spoilery for the other books in the series, so... while it can be read alone, I think you'd probably want to read the others first.

I'm not entirely sure right now when the book will release, so you can sign up for the New Releases Newsletter to be notified, or check with the blog as I will post more information as I know. Everything is a little slower than I'd like, but mostly that is due to my teething, crawling baby. I

In other news, I have a cover for the sequel to A Gift of Poison. Stay tuned for that to be revealed along with a summary and title soon.

What's Coming Up Next

Hi everyone!

I wanted to give you guys some updates on what will be coming out in the next few months.

I'm making good progress on For Wreck and Remnant (Secrets of Itlantis #4) and hopefully that will be released around Christmas/New Year's.

After that, I have another novel (title TBD) that's been on my hard drive that I love very much and hope to have polished up and released. More information on that later. Hopefully that will come out in Jan/Feb if all goes well.

After that... I'm going to be taking a bit of a breather on writing and working for a tiny bit because of another work in progress I've had going on for a while. A baby! Starting in late Feb, I'm going on maternity leave for a few months.

I will be working on the sequel to A Gift of Poison as I can get to it while the baby boy is napping or being cuddled by his daddy, and of course once I come "back to work" I'll work on that in earnest. I plan to release that in 2015, maybe as early as late spring if all goes well. We'll see.

A TITLE for Secrets of Itlantis #2 + some announcements!

Hey everyone!

Couple of updates on book series old and new:

Due to part of an arrangement I've made with Amazon, the Frost series is now available in the Kindle Lending Library! This means that if you have Amazon Prime, you can borrow them for free! The downside, Nook readers, is that they are going to be unavailable for a short while at Barnes and Noble. They should be back by the summer, though.

Also, new release in the Frost world. Or an old release, rather. SURVIVAL LESSONS, a short story that originally appeared in the anthology DARKEST WORLDS, is now available on Amazon. You can get it here.

In other news, I am now in revisions for the sequel to Of Sea and Stone. Annnnd I have a title to announce.

And I'm also going to be releasing a bundle of the Frost novellas and this short story, so if you buy all three together you can save some $$$.




In other news, regarding the new series SECRETS OF ITLANTIS:

The second book in the Secrets of Itlantis series will be called:

BY SUN AND SALTWATER.

News!!

Hi everybody,

Well, here's what's going on right now. I've been VERY busy finishing up edits on Aeralis (it is currently with my editor, and when she sends it back then it'll be only a few weeks before I have it ready to release. In the meantime, the cover is coming along nicely and I'll reveal that soon. :)

I have another fun reveal today. Darkest Worlds: A Dystopian Anthology. I've written a story called "Survival Lessons," set in the Frost world, and it will be part of this dystopian anthology along with a bunch of awesome stuff written by some other fantasy/dystopian authors!

And all the proceeds go to a charity for girls' literacy. I'm pretty excited about it.

Here's the summary of my story:

Survival Lessons – by Kate Avery Ellison, author of Frost. A young Farther prisoner named Eva escapes into the monster-filled wilderness of the Frost with a band of fellow inmates, all of whom are harboring secrets...but little do they know that Eva has secrets of her own. Set in the world of The Frost Chronicles.

Finally, some NEWS about Frost #3

Hey everybody!

Guess what? I've been hard at work in my writer's cave for months now, and I am so happy to announce that Frost #3, WEAVERS, goes to my editor for final line edits tomorrow.

YAY!!

Seriously, though. I am soooooooooo glad to be (mostly) done with it and I'm so excited for all of you to get to read it. This week I'll reveal the cover and synopsis and maybe release a few short teases leading up to the release itself. The book will be available in stores sometime in mid to late January. Cover reveal of my new book!

I'm always a bit nervous to reveal cover art, because I have some followers on here who are professional artists and designers, and I've never taken a design class in my life.

Nevertheless, I AM pretty excited to share with you the cover art for my new book!

Once Upon a Beanstalk (And Other Fairy Tale Mashups) is a collection of humorous short stories. Rumplestiltskin and Red Riding Hood are married and running a royal wedding planner venue, Rapunzel has been rescued from her tower and is about to start her happily ever after, and the Grimm Brothers are a group of notorious thieves who are forced to rescue a kidnapped princess from a mobster giant. 

All the stories take place in the same world and involve characters met in previous stories.

I've truly enjoyed writing them and I can't wait to get the book formatted and released!
