Important news about A KNIFE OF OBLIVION!

Dear readers,

So, I have good news and I have bad news.

The bad news is that I had to cancel the pre-order for A Knife of Oblivion. I made a mistake on the final file and it couldn't be corrected before the book released on 04/17/19 because the book was locked for upload already and past the deadline for change. So, if you pre-ordered the book, you will probably receive an email informing you that the book has been canceled (and just so you know, you weren't charged any money for that pre-order).

So the pre-order had to be canceled. But, don't panic! Here's the good news! I have re-uploaded the book for immediate release after correcting the file issue, so the book is out now!!

You can buy or read it with Kindle Unlimited right now by clicking here!

A REIGN OF THIEVES is here!!

Hi everyone!

A Reign of Thieves is available to purchase or to read in Kindle Unlimited now. This one is about twenty percent longer than the others, and just as full of angst, romance, and sassy dracules.

Brace yourselves for book 7 in the beloved Kingmakers' War series!

In the north, Briand struggles to hold her ground as thief-queen against slavers and other threats in the wretched city of Gillspin. Meanwhile, her reputation grows as more and more misfits and orphans flock to join her alter ego, the Scarlet Blade.

Kael of Estria, Monarchist spy and now the captain of Prince Jehn's royal guard, must rescue the Monarchist refugees from Cahan's army.

Prince Jehn is locked in a battle of wits with the queen of Nyr, his wife in name only, whom he is secretly in love with. The queen, sometimes an ally and sometimes an enemy with her own agenda, has secrets that Jehn cannot decipher. As they battle for dominance in the Nyrian court, the consequences might prove deadly.

Loyalties will be tested. Love will be questioned. Secrets will be revealed. Hearts will be broken.

A COURT OF LIES is available!!

Hi everyone!

I haven't said much about the upcoming Kingmakers' War book A Court of Lies, mostly because I've been working my butt off to get it written and revised and into your waiting hands. With two tiny children and a mountain of normal life things demanding constant attention, this is no easy feat, hence the wait that you've all been so patient about, but...

Now it's here!

Amazon US

Amazon UK

Amazon AU

Amazon CA

Amazon DE

Amazon IN

...and all the other zons!

I hope you guys enjoy the book. :D

BTW, I've been getting lots of questions about whether or not this is the last book in the Kingmakers' War series, so I'll try to write a post soon with my plans for the series and subsequent books. But, to answer that question now, nope, it isn't the last! I want this to be a long series. I really enjoy writing it, and I think a lot of people enjoy reading it as well. I already have the cover and title of the next book, and a rough (very rough!) outline planned.

Anyway, happy reading, and if you can, please leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads and tell me what you liked in a non-spoilery way. I love reading what you have to say!

Book 6 in the Kingmakers' War series is....!

Hi all!

Good news. I have a title, a cover, and a (sort of) release timetable for you.

Book #6 in the Kingmakers' War, the saga of Kael and Briand and Jehn and all of the rest of our lovely group of misfits, is almost here!

A Court of Lies!

I think I said somewhere awhile ago that it would be called A Court of Rags, which 1) didn't end up quite fitting the symbolism of the story and 2) I forgot when I coined that title that I have a character in the series named Rags. So. Lies it is.

Lots of people do some lying in this book. As in all Kingmakers' War books. :)

The book is with my editor now, and after a few rounds of revisions, I'm going to release it. I'm trying this without preorders this time, and I'll probably do it the other way next time. Just getting a feel for what works best for me and for readers. But look for it around the end of June! I will, of course, send out news of the release on my New Releases Newsletter, Facebook, and this blog. So be sure to check!

Want To Have A SHIELD OF SORROW Dedicated to YOU?

Hi guys!

This is suuuuuper last minute, but I decided, what the heck, let's dedicate A Shield of Sorrow to one lucky reader. I've written 25 books... everybody in my family and friends circle that deserves a dedication has already gotten one, and it's usually one of the last things I do. The book comes out April 5, so this is a super-short contest. Good luck!

And the title (and cover!) of the Kingmakers' War book #4 is...

Hi everyone!

Lots of news today.

First things first. I have slightly reworked the covers of the Kingmakers' War series. And I love them! I kept the same images but went with a "swashier" font, which is what I wanted originally. I enjoy tweaking my covers when I have multiple books to play with--it gives me the ability to built a cohesion among the covers that I can only guess at when designing the first book in the series (since the covers are somewhat informed by their contents).

So, first... the new covers!

And now, the new title and cover of book #4!

Second piece of news! A Circle of Flames is coming out THIS MONTH! :) :) :) I told you guys you wouldn't have to wait as long this time.

Stay tuned for a summary and, of course, for the book release itself!

Hi everyone,

Are you an Apple user? Coming soon!!

In the frozen world of the Frost, only mysterious blue flowers that bloom in the snow keep the monsters at bay. The air is icy cold. It's easy to get lost. One wrong move and a person could end up dead.

Lia Weaver knows this better than anyone.

After monsters kill her parents, Lia must keep the family farm running in their place. She follows the rules of the village: Don't talk to outsiders. Don't go into the Frost at night. Don't ask too many questions. Rules keep her family alive in this harsh and unforgiving world.

But when her sister finds a handsome fugitive bleeding to death in the forest at dusk, Lia surprises herself and does the unthinkable.

She saves his life.

Other news!

I promised you guys I would not take as long to release the next book as I did the last. I'm happy to announce that I am roughly halfway through book #4 in the Kingmakers' War. Be on the lookout for a title, cover, and some teaser quotes in the near future. I'm hoping for a January release. :)

New covers! Free books!

Hi everyone!

First, I'm running another promo and OF SEA AND STONE is free for Kindle readers right now! This is a finished series, so if you like to binge your books, you can read the whole thing from start to finish. The whole series is also available in Kindle Unlimited temporarily.

You can get Of Sea and Stone free by clicking here.

I felt like freshening up some book covers, so I redesigned the rest of the Secrets of Itlantis series last week. Here are the new covers:

I'd redesigned Of Sea and Stone forever ago, and hadn't gotten around to making the rest of the books match. Finally did that... I was fun to sit down and do a whole series of covers all at once. Usually I'm designing them one at a time as I release the books.

I'm pretty sure By Sun and Saltwater is my favorite. That was always my least favorite cover of the old ones.

I also redid the cover for The Season of Lightning. I've had trouble with the covers for that book... I felt like the old cover slightly misrepresented the genre and didn't feel particularly YA and didn't really match the mood of the book either.

Here's the new one:

In other (final) news, I'm working on the next book in the Kingmakers' War series.

Happy reading, everyone!

But hurry! The deal is just for this week.

Also, The Season of Lightningis currently just 99 cents. That may only be true for another day or two, so if you want a copy at that price, get it now.

In other news, I'm working on the first draft of book #4 in the Kingmakers' War and I PROMISE you guys won't have to wait as long for that book as you waited for the last one. I am actually hoping for a winter release, so just a few months.

Happy reading!

When she and Kael are arrested as spies and taken to the prince's secret court for trial, everything becomes even more complicated... the Seeker Auberon continues to hunt her in her dreams, Briand's feelings for Kael--and his for her--torment them both as they struggle to trust each other in the midst of secrets and conflicted political loyalties, and then there's a traitor among the nobility who has attempted to assassinate the prince. The punishment for treason is a swift and painful death.

And some people seem to think that traitor might be Kael.

A Kiss of Treason teaser quote #1

Briand and Kael are both struggling with their feelings for each other in this A Kiss of Treason. Briand is so passionate and untrusting, which makes sense given her years with her uncle and the things she'd experienced since. It's going to take her some time to rebuild a sense of worth and strength, although I think she's making progress. She still has a lot to learn about confidence, and she is quick to take a place of self-loathing still.

And Kael tries so hard to keep his feelings from showing. Everyone assumes he doesn't have any. Sometimes the stillest waters hide the deepest feelings.

If you haven't, you can follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, or via the New Releases Newsletter to stay up-to-date on teasers and new releases, including A Kiss of Treason when it comes out!
