Hi! Haven't read it, no. Not sure if I will or I won't. Should prob read the prev two first, huh? I'm trying to follow your blog but for some reason blogger isn't letting me. I'll come back a little later and try again! :o) Nice to meet you!
@TAA Nice to meet you too! I dunno why blogger isn't letting you ... It was doing that to me too earlier. @Salarsen Thanks! I enjoyed doing it ... @aspiring_x That pretty much sums up how I felt too :-D
I just finished it. (1) I haven't cried like that since Harry Potter 6. The book was a huge success on that front. However, (2) I didn't LOVE the book. I wasn't as caught up in it. I missed the hunger games, the immediacy and suspense of them. I was speed-reading a ton of the middle, especially the stuff "for the camera," since I knew it didn't matter.
But yay, team Peeta. I kind of wished there had been more Peeta make-up at the end, though. Oh well.
And Finnick died. I sped-read through that scene and missed it (whoops) and heard it from Katniss later. But you know what, it's better that way. It's like it didn't really happen. I've cried enough.
Awww Jaimie * hugs* I cried too. But just when she and the cat finally make friends at the end because Prim was dead. It was such a small moment of niceness in so much sadness and I broke down.
You read it with cake?? No wonder your response was so much sweeter! :) I finally wrote back over on my blog, but yeah, I think you're right in that it's definitely a thinking book, and one that's made for discussion.
What a nice combo, 'cept for the irritable kitty. I've not read it yet.
ReplyDeleteIn the process of reading it and I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you read it, come back and tell me what you think :-)
ReplyDelete@Renae -- I liked it too. But I understand a lot of people didn't ... I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts. I'm still processing some of mine ...
ReplyDeleteI've just ordered it - thought I could get it via Kindle, but apparently not in Canada *sigh*
ReplyDelete@Jemi I'm surprised you can't ... how strange.

ReplyDelete@ Elizabeth Yeah ... but it doesn't make it less sad, I know!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, cake makes everything better. Hands down.
